Moulthrop-Clift Insurance

It pre-dates the Civil War, was established the same year as the Michigan State Fair, and opened its doors 12 years after Michigan became a state.

At 161 years old, Moulthrop-Clift Insurance is believed to be the oldest, continuously operated insurance company in Michigan. And this year, Bay City Times readers have voted it as their Favorite Insurance Company in the Five-Star Favorites survey. It is not the first time the family-owned business has won top honors in that category.

“We put the customer first, and we put the community first,” said Guy C. Moulthrop, who co-owns and operates the business with his brother Blair.
