 Burgess Agency Inc. The Burgess Agency is an independent insurance agency dedicated to providing our clients with information so they can make informed decisions when choosing coverage on their policy.
The agency was founded in Newberry, MI around the 1920's by Carl F. Johnson. In 1962 Lee Burgess Bought the book of business and renamed to the Burgess Agency, Inc. In 1985, Dennis Burgess, Lee's son, bought the agency and continued the agency's growth and reputation. In 2002, the Tahquamenon Area Credit Union purchased the agency, but only with the understanding to follow the same principles and ethics of the Burgess name.
